CryptoCom 2000

The CryptoCom 2000 incorporates a Conexant™ V.90 chipset, International telephone operation DAA (Data Access Arrangement) and 168-bit Triple DES with authentication to secure remote access communications. The above features have been added to enhance the operation and further protect the operation of the CryptoCom 2000. These updates are available at to cost to users of the CryptoCom. Please contact Western DataCom for instructions on how to obtain the flash update.

CryptoCom 2000 - 3DES

The CryptoCom 2000 is the industry's first and only Triple DES encryption pocket modem. Designed to operate as a secure remote access device with another CryptoCom modem or with the LineGuard 9000 for a complete encrypted data link. The CryptoCom 2000 encrypts the entire data stream using federally approved 168-bit Triple DES, FIPS PUB 46-3 (TDEA - TCFB Mode). The CryptoCom 2000 operates over land lines (PSTN), over 2-wire leased line circuits* up to 33,600 bps securely and has optional callback security. The CryptoCom 2000 has been designed to meet FIPS PUB 140-2, Level 2. The CryptoCom 2000 has also been designed to operate over International telephone lines in CTR21 member countries giving it a versatility reserved for high-end communications devices. In addition, the new CryptoCom 2000 uses V.42bis data compression to achieve effective throughputs up to 115.2 Kbps.

The CryptoCom 2000 is an external modem using a serial RS-232C communications interface. The serial interface allows the CryptoCom to be used in a large number of applications. Any device that uses a serial RS232C interface can be connected to the CryptoCom to allow secure remote communications. When used with the LineGuard 9000 Remote Port Manager the CryptoCom becomes a fully automated, secure, out-of-band management tool.
