Single Board Computer

The Single Board Computer PC/104 Card is a Pentiium M Class computer specifically targeted for the Cisco 3200® Series Wireless and Mobile Router(s). Western DataCom has selected a third party PC/104 computer and designed custom thermal plates that allow it to be incorporated into the 3200 Rugged Enclosure.

The SBC1 is our initial release and is a Pentium M 1.6GHz with 1GB of DRAM that is capable of running Windows XP or Linux. It includes 4 USB ports, 2 serial, 1 10/100 Ethernet as well as VGA, parallel and PS/2 ports. The custom thermal plates provide passive conduction cooling that allows it to operate from -40 to +74C. In addition we include an 80GB Seagate hard disk drive that is designed for automotive grade applications.

The various interfaces are exposed to the outside through the use of a custom end cap for the 3200 rugged enclosure. There are two methods used one provides for a single MIL style circular connector that requires mating cables to break out the connectors. The second method can only be used in certain application but essentially places these connections directly on the end cap. Please contact Western DataCom for details.

Western DataCom has also introduced the SBC2 which is the latest generation of mobile Pentium platforms. The SBC2 is a 1.66GHz Pentium M with 2GB of DRAM in a PC/104 Plus form factor. It includes all of the interfaces the SBC1 with the addition of two more USB ports as well as a 10/100/1000 MHz Ethernet interface.
